Some forecasts have Hurricane Irma hitting New Jersey sometime Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Depending on the trajectory of the storm, the impact could vary greatly.

Residents can also begin their own preparations for the storm. Residents should have a few days worth of water available, and easy-to-prepare meals that don't require electricity on hand. Much of Irma's impact is expected to be from the rain, so residents in areas that flood should be particularly cautious.
