It's Official: Democrats Win Madison Borough Council Race
After a pandemic-extended election style, the results are finally in.
MADISON, NJ — The Madison race for borough council has ended after a pandemic extended election cycle and Democrats Robert Edward Landrigan and John F. Hoover have come out victorious over Republicans Michael Daily and Mackaella Goodwin.
According to the final tallies, certified by the Morris County Clerk the totals were:
- Robert Edward Landrigan: 5,021
- John F. Hoover: 5,011
- Michael Dailey: 3,904
- Mackaella Goodwin: 4,035

Since the change to this year's election was announced by Gov. Phil Murphy because of the coronavirus, there were been many questions about how the process worked. The primarily vote-by-mail process, in tandem with the extended deadlines to receive votes pushed the certification day to "on or about Nov. 20."
