Madison Mariners Compete at the 2019 NJ YMCA Bronze Championship

Over 70 Mariners swam at the YMCA Bronze Championships February 9th - 10th, 2019, achieving many personal records and qualifying times for the Silver Championship Meet. 9/10 Age Group Top Performances
Samantha Soltis (10) qualified for 6 events earning stellar Top 5 Finishes in 4 of them. She touched the wall 1st in the 50 Yard Breaststroke, 2nd in the 50 Back, 4th in the 100 IM, 5th in the 100 Breast & 50 Free and 8th in the 100 Free.
CJ Hilgendorff (10) swam 5 events with a stellar 1st place finish in the 100 Breast and 11th place in the 100 IM.
Caitlyn Kolster (10) qualified for 6 events placing 7th in the 50 Fly, 8th in the 100 IM, 12th in the 50 Free and 14th in the 100 Free.
Kaitlyn Troiano (10) qualified for 6 events and had great Top 15 Finishes in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 50 Breast, 50 Fly, 100 IM and placed 17th in the 100 Back.
Ethan Lu (10) swam 6 events finishing 3rd in the 100 Fly and having Top 20 Finishes in the 50 Breast, 100 Back, 100 Free and 50 Back.
Josie Speace (10) competed in 6 events and had 3 Top 20 Finishes in the 100 IM, 100 Back and 50 Back.
Ethan Wagner (10) competed in 6 events and finished 4th in the 50 Back.
Ian Faigenbaum (9) swam 5 events earning 13th place in the 100 Breast.

11/12 Age Group Top Performances
Anika Lippke (12) competed in 6 events and had impressive Top 10 finishes in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free and Top 20 finishes in the 10 IM, 100 Fly, 50 Fly.
Katelyn Hoffelder (12) took 4th place in the 200 IM.
Alyssa Lee (12) qualified for 6 events swimming to 5th place in the 100 Breast and 16th place in the 50 Breast.
Aryan Kumar (11) competed in 6 events and placed 6th in the 50 Fly and 19th in the 50 Free.
Emily Houng (11) swam 4 events placing 8th in the 100 Fly and 9th in the 50 Fly.
Nicholas Troiano (12) swam in 5 events and placed 10th in the 50 Back and 18th in the 50 Breast.
Trevor Ledon (11) swam in 4 events and had Top 10 finishes in the 100 IM and 50 Back.
Maddie Perez (12) placed 12th in the 100 Breast.
Samuel Zhang (11) qualified for 4 events and had a Top 20 Finish in the 100 Breast.

13/14 Age Group Top Performances
Amanda Beneventano (14) swam 5 events earning 2nd in the 200 Fly, 6th in the 100 Fly and 12th in the 200 Free.
Christopher Houng (13) competed in 4 events with an impressive 5th place in the 100 Breast and 6th place finishes in the 50 Free and 200 Breast.
Will Foucher (13) earned 2 Top 10 finishes with 8th place in the 200 Free and 9th in the 50 Free.
Anjali Phadnis (13) qualified for 7 events and earned 2 Top 10 Finishes in the 50 Free and 50 Back.
Alison Barton (13) swam personal best times in the 100 Free (6th place) and the 200 Individual Medley (13th place).
Evan Katz (14) competed in 4 events finishing in 10th in the 100 Back.
Angela Erwin (14) qualified for 7 events and finished 11th in the 100 Back.
Caroline Cortese (13) competed in 5 events coming in 12th in the 100 Fly.
Charlotte Siow (14) competed in 5 events and finished 16th in the 200 Breast.
Sasha Knoll (14) had a Top 20 finish on the 200 Back.

15-18 Age Group Top Performances
Nate Creamer (15) swam 4 events placing 16th in the 100 Breast.
Aiden Kagen (15) swam 3 Top 20 finishes in the 100 Back, 50 Free and 100 Fly.
Gwen Luckasavage (15) qualified for 5 events and earned 3 Top 20 Finishes in the 200 Back, 100 Fly and 200 Free.
Katie Caviness (16) swam 4 events placing 12th in the 100 Fly, 13th in the 100 Breast and 17th in the 100 Back.
Philip Puccio (16) swam 2 events placing 6th in the 200 Free and 13th in the 50 Free.
Drew Coxson (17) placed 5th in the 50 Free.
Emma Dougherty (17) competed in 4 events placing 8th in the 100 Breast, 10th in the 200 Free and 19th in the 50 Free.
James Dougherty (17) competed in 3 events placing 11th in the 100 Fly and 15th in the 200 Free.
Sarah Dougherty (17) had impressive 1st place finishes in the 100 Back, 200 Fly & IM and 2nd place in the 50 Free.
Sarah Penrice (18) competed in 4 events and had Top 20 Finishes in the 100 Back and 200 IM.

The relays at Championship Meets are always the most exciting part and our swimmers did not disappoint!
The 9/10 Girls Relay Team A including Caitlyn Kolster, Samantha Soltis, Josie Speace & Kaitlyn Troiano had an exciting 1st place finish in the 200 Free Relay. The same team also had an impressive 4th place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 11/12 Girls Relay Team A including Anjali Phadnis, Emma Straub, Caroline Caviness & Annike Lippke touched the wall 9th in the 200 Free Relay.
The 11/12 Girls Relay Team A including Annike Lippke, Grace Mulligan, Emily Houng & Katelyn Hoffelder finished 9th place in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 13/14 Girls Relay Team A including Angela Irwin, Maura Feron, Caroline Cortese & Amanda Beneventano finished 8th place in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 15-18 Girls Relay Team A including Sarah Dougherty, Katharine Caviness Gwen Luckasavage & Drew Coxson had an impressive 3rd place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 9/10 Boys Relay Team A including Ian Faigenbaum, CJ Hilgendorff, Ethan Wagner & Ethan Lu finished 8th place in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 11/12 Boys Relay Team A including Oscar Bruu-Syverson, Nicholas Troiano, Aryan Kumar & Daniel Posy touched the wall 9th both in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 13/14 Boys Relay Team A including Evan Katz, Christopher Houng, Will Foucher & Conor Heffernan placed 8th in the 200 Medley Relay.
The 15-18 Girls Relay Team A including James Dougherty, Aiden Kagan, Philip Puccio, Nate Creamer took 5th place in the 200 Medley Relay.
