Madison School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Madison is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Madison School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/1: Staff In-Service
• 9/4: Labor Day
• 9/5: Staff In-Service
• 9/6: First Day of School
• 9/21: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/9: Early Dismissal for Students (Staff In-Service)
• 10/26: 2-Hour Delayed Opening (In-Service)

November

• 11/9 - 11/10: No School (NJEA Convention)
• 11/20 - 11/21: Early Dismissal (Elementary and JS Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 1/22: Early Dismissal
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/14: 2-Hour Delayed Opening (In-Service)
• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/2: Classes Resume
• 1/15: Early Dismissal for Students (Staff In-Service)

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Staff In-Service)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/15: 2-Hour Delayed Opening (In-Service)
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/9 - 4/13: No School (Spring Break)
• 4/16: Classes Resume
• 4/23 - 4/24: Early Dismissal (Elementary and JS Parent/Teacher Conferences)

May

• 5/25: Early Dismissal
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June
