Madison High School's productions of "Hello, Dolly!" and "It's a Wonderful Life" were recognized in various categories.

MADISON, NJ — Students from Madison High School were nominated in multiple categories for the Theatre Night Awards, with their productions of "Hello, Dolly!" and "It’s a Wonderful Life."
The awards are given out by Montclair State University’s Department of theatre and dance, with the purpose of raising the bar in straight play production in New Jersey schools.

- Outstanding Achievement in Period/Fantasy Costume Design: "Hello, Dolly!" and "It’s a Wonderful Life"
- Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Design: "Hello, Dolly!"
- Outstanding Achievement in Scenic Design: "Hello, Dolly!"
- Outstanding Achievement in Editing: "It’s a Wonderful Life"
- Outstanding Achievement in Choreography in a Musical: "Hello, Dolly!"
- Outstanding Achievement in Stage Combat: "It’s a Wonderful Life"
- Outstanding Achievement in Educational Impact & Community Outreach: "Hello, Dolly!" (Jaquelynne Radcliff) and "It’s a Wonderful Life" (Blake Spence)

The Theatre Night Awards recognize productions from both high school and middle school straight plays throughout New Jersey.
They were first given out in 2009 and the 2019-2020 ceremony was the first to be held virtually. This year's will be as well.

“By rewarding challenging choices in the production of new plays and classics, we have observed that more school theatre programs are producing Greek and Shakespeare plays, challenging works by such modern writers as Bertolt Brecht, Brian Friel, Arthur Miller, George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, as well as new plays and original works,” the school says on their mission statement.
