Madison Woman Lied About Knife Attack, Filed False Report: Police
Analive Ramirez-Arias was jailed pending her first court appearance.
MADISON, NJ - A 40-year-old Madison woman was arrested and jailed after filing a false police report and lying about a knife attack, according to the Madison Police Department.
According to authorities, Madison Police were dispatched to the rear lot of a Main Street apartment complex on a report of an assault with injuries. A caller reported that the victim, Ramirez-Arias, was attacked by an unknown male wearing a ski mask and assaulted her with a knife causing substantial injury to her left arm, police said.
Upon Madison officer’s arrival, they met with Ramirez-Arias in her residence where she repeated the same story and was transported to Morristown Medical Center for her injuries, police said.

Following the initial report, Madison Detectives worked to develop a suspect and evidence was uncovered which contradicted Ramirez-Arias’ statement, police said.
“The keen observations of responding officers and the subsequent follow up investigation by detectives uncovered the deception quickly," Madison Police Chief Darren P. Dachisen said.

Madison Detectives Julian Morales and Ken Shannon arrested Ramirez-Arias and charged her with filing 4th degree Filing a False Police Report and 2nd degree Employing a Juvenile to Commit Terroristic Threats. Ramirez-Arias was was transported to the Morris County
Jail pending her Morris County Superior Court appearance.
Assisting in the initial investigation were the Morris County Sheriff’s Department, K9 and Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Florham Park Police, Chatham Borough Police, Chatham Township Police, and Harding Township Police.
