MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - Jackie Korn, animal lover and owner of the Morris County-based Korn Dogs dog walking service, knew when she saw the coverage of the fires in Australia that she had to help the wildlife.

"We have been seeing so much coverage about the fires on the news and I really wanted to be able to help the animals," Korn said. "Our clients have so much love for their own animals I figured they would want to be included."

Korn said the business, which is headquartered in Madison but serves Chatham, Morristown and Florham Park, is known for their fun Instagram stories.

"So I wrote about it on there but not expecting to get even half of the donations we got," Korn told Patch. "However people were overly enthusiastic to contribute."

Korn Dogs raised $2,050 and Korn said she saw an article on CBS news that listed links of places to send donations so help animals.

"So we sent our money to there," she said. "I realized many people are willing to donate if they have more details about it and we were willing to do that for them."

The organization chosen was the RSPCA in New South Whales. Those interested can send a donation through their website.
