MADISON, NJ — The days are getting shorter and the weather colder and while many folks have four-legged pals to share their homes, Patch wants to help get some homeless cats into safe and warm houses by the holidays.

As part of that effort, we will be highlighting cats that currently are waiting in shelters for someone to adopt them.

River is one of those cats. He is at the Saint Hubert's Animal Welfare Center at 575 Woodland Ave.

According to Saint Hubert's, River is a six-month-old domestic short hair. His primary color is black, secondary color is white and he has been spayed.

"My name is River and I'm here looking for a new home to take me in. I'm a super friendly and lovely little guy who loves loves loves to play and climb up to your shoulders, I'm like your very own pirate parrot," the shelter description said.
