Sidewalk Gallery Gala, Comedy Show Fundraiser This Week

Special Senate election, last farmers market, Borough Council meeting also on tap.

Columbus Day: Students have a single session Monday. Staff have professional development in the afternoon.

Special Election: Special Senate General Election is Wednesday. Polls open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can see Madison's polling locations here.

Madison Borough Council: Madison's governing body is scheduled to meet 8 p.m. Wednesday in the municipal building, 50 Kings Road.

Last Farmers Market: The last Madison Farmers Market of the year is 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday on Green Village Road off Main Street.

Mingle With Artists: The Downtown Development Commission and Madison Arts and Culture Alliance are holding their Sidewalk Gallery Gala & Auction Friday evening in borough hall. Sixteen pieces of original art from Madison's sidewalk art gallery are for sale. The artists will be attending, and there will be wine, cheese and other hors d’oeuvres, tours of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building by the Historical Society, and music by guitarist Ken Sebesky. The event opens 7 p.m. for V.I.Preview ticket holders ($10) and 8 p.m. for the general public (free). Silent auction begins at 8 p.m. Live auction begins at 8:45 p.m.

Comedy Show: Jaime Conroy, a member of the Greater Morris Area Autism Speaks Walk committee, is hosting a stand up comedy fundraiser for Autism Speaks in Madison.

The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Madison Community House. It will feature two local comedians and two comedians from New York City. The lineup: Jim Conroy, Karen Krents, Eric Kirchberger and Brian McFadden.
