Thong-Wearing Drunk Man Head Butted Officer at Pizza Place: Cops

Brooklyn man was shouting obscenities inside restaurant, witnesses said.

Madison, N.J. – A Madison police officer was allegedly assaulted by an intoxicated man during an incident at a local pizza place, police reported.

Police arrived at EATalian Bistro Thursday night at 8:20 p.m. for a dispute in progress, Lt. John Miscia said.

Officers arrived on scene and found Ian O’Leary, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, who had allegedly caused a disturbance toward patrons and was asked to leave, Miscia said.

Witnesses told police O’Leary was walking around the inside of the restaurant yelling obscenities in thong underwear, Miscia said.

O’Leary then refused to cooperate with officers and became combative, Miscia said. When officers attempted to handcuff O’Leary, he then turned and head butted Officer Matthew Mirabella, Miscia said.

O’Leary was then taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and aggravated assault on a police officer. Officer Mirabella refused medical attention. O’Leary was taken to Morristown Medical Center where he was released into the care of the hospital staff.
