FDU Honors Women's Basketball Team For Undefeated Season

The team presented the university president with a basketball signed by all its players.

After an undefeated season, the Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham women's basketball team is reaping the rewards.

The FDU board of trustees honored the players for their 33-0 season and subsequent championship this week. The team reciprocated by giving the University President Sheldon Drucker a basketball signed by all its players.

The Devils defeated Whitman after shattering a 62-62 with 6:24 left to play in the NCAA Division III national title game. They went on to win 80-72.

"Today we kind of saw exactly what FDU Devils basketball is all about," FDU coach Marc Mitchell told the Star-Ledger. "It’s all about mental toughness, resiliency and just a bunch of great young ladies."
