Vera Lillian McCall, A Former Nurse's Aid, Dies At 78
McCall was a longtime resident of Madison

MADISON, NJ - Obituary submitted by Madison Memorial Home:
Vera Lillian McCall, 78, a longtime Madison resident, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at home with her family at her side. She will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew her.
Vera was born in Climax, GA on Feb. 2, 1940 to the late Thomas and Essie Mae Mock. She was raised in Georgia and lived there before moving to Madison in 1962. She and her beloved husband, John McCall, Jr., would raise their family in Madison where they have lived since.

Vera was a warm and loving person who dedicated her life to caring for others, especially the elderly. She had a long career as a nurse’s aide and was employed at King James Care Center of Chatham for many years, before retiring in 2003. In her retirement, Vera enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, word search puzzles and vacationing with her husband on cruises. She was also a parishioner of First Baptist Church of Madison for many years.
Vera is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, John McCall, Jr.; her devoted daughter, Sheila McCall; her three loving sons, Alcenior McCall, Charles Mock & John Maverick McCall and his wife, Rose; her cherished grandchildren, Charles Freeman, Jocelyn Givens, Michael McCall, DaJuan Hill and Quiltral Dozshan Hill Sr.; her sister in laws, Juanita Jefferson and Diane Spears, many nieces, nephews and family. She will be greatly missed by several friends and her daughter’s dog, Faith, a Cavachon that she loved dearly.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Vera’s life on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, with a funeral service led by Rev. A. Craig Dunn held at 7 p.m. during the visiting hours. All may gather at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday to pay final respects to Vera prior to entombment at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
