1 Arrested, 2 At-Large In Connection With 25 Manalapan Burglaries

MANALAPAN, NJ - A Franklin man has been charged in connection with a string of motor vehicle thefts and 25 reported burglaries to unlocked motor vehicles in Manalapan, authorities said. Two other suspects have not yet been identified and are at-large.

During the early morning hours of April 26, three suspects dressed in dark clothing, masks and hoods entered the Meadow Creek development and either attempted to enter or successfully entered any unlocked vehicle in the area, Manalapan police said in a statement. Several residents provided surveillance footage of the vehicle burglaries and attempted burglaries, resulting in the recovery of one of the vehicles in Metuchen.

There were also two thefts that were reported.

Dashaun Bryant, 18, of Franklin, was later charged with one count of motor vehicle theft, two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, and two counts of theft. The other two suspects have not yet been identified, police said.

The incident is still pending further investigation.

“Residents are reminded to lock all vehicle doors and not to leave any items of value in their vehicles,” Manalapan police said.
