Best-Selling Author to Discuss the Legacy of Jane Austen's Elizabeth Bennet

Eloisa James will be signing books and discussing Elizabeth Bennet of "Pride and Prejudice".

New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James is heading to the Monmouth County Library in Manalapan on Saturday to join in the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the publication of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.  James will speak about Elizabeth Bennet’s literary ancestors and her modern day descendants. The two-hour event will begin at 2 p.m. 

James is the author of a memoir Paris in Love and over 20 romance novels including Once Upon a Tower, Enchanting Pleasures, and Much Ado About You.  She is a 2013 winner of the RITA, the top award for romance fiction from the Romance Writers of America.

By day, James is Dr. Mary Bly, a professor in the English Department at Fordham University specializing in Shakespeare. After graduating from Harvard University, she got a M.Phil from Oxford University and a Ph.D in Renassiance Studies from Yale University. She brings her scholarship into her romance novels with references to Renaissance poetry and Shakespeare.
