Drug-Related Charges Arise from 2 Welfare Checks

Two welfare checks made by Manalapan police resulted in two drug related arrests this October. Both individuals were found to be in possession of hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia, police said. 

On Oct. 11, police were called to Wegmans Supermarket to make a welfare check on an individual within the store. Police located Justin Wise, 22, of Oakhurst, and found him to be in possession of hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia. Wise also had a warrant out for his arrest stemming from Ocean Township, according to police. He was arrested and charged with possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia and then turned over to the Ocean Township Police Department. He is currently remanded in Monmouth County Jail in default of $10,000 bail stemming from the Ocean Township charges, which include burglary, criminal mischief, and theft.

Police made another welfare check three days earlier when they were called to check on a woman who was sitting in her car parked on Elliot Road on Oct. 8 at around 11:30 p.m. The woman was identified as Jacquelyn Feulner, 24, of Manalapan. Police said they found Feulner to be in possession of heroin, prescription medication without a valid prescription, a hypodermic syringe and other drug paraphernalia. 

She was transported to police headquarters and charged with possession of heroin, possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription, possession of a hypodermic needle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Feulner also already had an active traffic warrant out of Manalapan in the amount of $189. She posted bail and was released, according to police. The case is pending court.
