What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Twelve years of military experience, formal education in governmental and business accounting, commercial and government finance and economics. Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and recognized as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Education and experience in both the physical and social sciences. Experience on the Executive Board of a national professional organization and on the Executive Board of a religious institution.

Other issues that define my campaign platform are promoting civility and reducing the toxic divisiveness and politics of personal destruction that contagiously erupt from the Oval Office, through Congress and our State governments, and into our counties and boroughs. Keeping municipal taxes as low as possible while still supplying those critical services on which we all depend. Finding new ways to share services cost-effectively with local municipalities and Monmouth County and most importantly, to foster open and transparent communication with constituents.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Four years of service on the Englishtown council. A thorough grounding in micro, macro, and managerial economics in understanding the overall economic environment which constrains how we plan, budget and govern. Understanding that representation is less the art of management than it is the practice of leadership. Four years of balanced budgets, projects completed, and effective financial stewardship.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Trust but verify (Ronald Reagan)

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Our Republic, in our 231st year, faces the most serious threat to her unity since the Civil War. While autocracies give way to coups and revolutions, republics fail when its citizens surrender the rights that their forefathers have been paid for in blood and concurrently fail to shoulder the responsibilities that we all share as citizens. We have a stark choice this year between Donald Trump’s narcissistic and selfish autocracy and the well-intentioned though perhaps mediocre leadership of Joe Biden. I chose mediocracy over evil every time.
