Freehold Man Charged in Scrap Metal Theft of Comtron Inc.
The scrap metal theft took place on June 28; the arrest was made Aug. 8.

Manalapan Police arrested a Freehold man on Aug. 8 in connection with the scrap metal thefts from Comtron Inc. that took place in late June.
Ptl. Philip Accatatta was patrolling the area of Route 33 and Millhurst Road when he said he spotted an pickup truck that matched the description of the vehicle seen during the theft of Comtron Inc. on June 28. According to police, $2,500 worth of scrap metal was stolen from the business; the owner said he saw three men in an old pickup truck remove the scrap metal at around 1 a.m.
Accatatta pulled over the truck for a motor vehicle violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, 23, a customer service associate from Freehold. After a police investigation, Hale-Cusanelli was arrested and charged with theft, criminal trespass, and conspiracy to commit theft in connection with the June 28 burglary of Comtron. He was transported to Monmouth County Corrections in default of $10,000 bail.
