On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at approximately 12:24 p.m., a 22-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that he was defrauded of $3,284.00 from an employment scam on a website. Patrolman Ryan Brady handled the incident.
On Monday, February 22, 2021, at approximately 4:02 p.m., a 50-year-old resident of Manalapan Township reported that an unknown actor(s) sent him threatening text messages. Patrolman James Guarino handled the incident.

On Saturday, February 20, 2021, at approximately 11:42 p.m., a 25-year-old South Plainfield resident reported that an unknown actor had created several fake profiles utilizing the victim’s personal information and pictures on several dating sites. The suspect would then make contact with other individuals on these sites and give out the victim’s phone number. This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman Brian Cruse handled the report.
On Saturday, February 20, 2021, at approximately 9:08 p.m., a 22-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a known subject ordered food to his home and harassed the victim on an online gaming website. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report.

On Friday, February 19, 2021, at approximately 5:04 p.m., Patrolman Jeremy Slad responded to Kingsley Drive for a report of a single car motor vehicle crash. The operator of the vehicle, Gregory Verde, an unmarried, 28-year-old male resident of Freehold Township, occupation unknown, was found to be driving while intoxicated. Mr. Verde was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued summonses and a criminal complaint for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Patrolman Jeremy Slad was the arresting officer.
On Friday, February 19, 2021, at approximately 1:11 p.m., Target Loss Prevention employees reported two prior shoplifting incidents totaling $1,618.89 of merchandise removed from the store without rendering payment. One incident occurred on February 11, 2021 and the other incident occurred on February 15, 2021. This incident was handled by Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis and is pending complaints.
On Thursday, February 18, 2021, at approximately 6:54 p.m., a 73-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor tried to open a checking account in the victim’s name. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the incident.
On Thursday, February 18, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m., 30-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a known subject has been sending her numerous messages threatening and harassing her and her family. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the incident.
On Thursday, February 18, 2021, at approximately 9:43 a.m., patrols responded to the area of Iron Ore Rd for a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was determined, the driver, identified as Leslie Abernethy-Orlyck, a 38-year-old female resident of Staten Island, New York, employment unknown, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Ms. Abernethy-Orlyck was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after being issued summonses. Patrolman Kyle Earley was the arresting officer.
On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at approximately 10:28 a.m., a 66-year-old resident of Manalapan responded to police headquarters to report a theft. The victim reports being defrauded of $105,000.00 during the course of the past seven months by an unknown actor that was met through an online game. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis took the report, which is pending further investigation.
