Lighting of New Jersey's Largest Menorah Sunday in Monroe

The menorah is located at State Park Perrineville Road, at the corner of Prospect Plains Road, in Monroe Township.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ - The state's largest menorah will be lit Sunday in Monroe Township and all are welcome to attend. The menorah is 32 feet tall, the height of the menorah in Rockefeller Center, which is billed as “The Largest Menorah in the World.” 32 feet is the highest legal size a menorah can be, according to Jewish law, Rabbi Eliezer Zaklikovsky of the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroe tells Patch.

The menorah is located at State Park Perrineville Road, at the corner of Prospect Plains Road, in Monroe Township and is up now. The official lighting will be Sunday, Dec. 25 from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Hot cocoa, doughnuts and latkes will be served. The menorah is maintained by the Chabad of Monroe Township. They will also have a large Dreidel mascot, called Dreidel Man, who will be on hand for the children, as well as photo ops, dancing, etc.
