Man Accused of Cashing Checks In Name Of Manalapan Senior Citizen, Police Say

A Somerset man is accused of fraudulently cashing about $1,000 worth of checks in the name of a Manalapan senior citizen, police said.

A Somerset man is accused of fraudulently cashing about $1,000 worth of checks in the name of a Manalapan senior citizen, police said.

According to a news release from Deputy Chief Michael Fountain:

On April 28, a 73-year-old female Manalapan woman reported that someone had fraudulently cashed approximately $1,000 in checks in her name.

After an investigation by Detective Charles Alaimo, criminal complaints were signed against Michael V. Farino, a 36-year-old Somerset resident.

Farino’s bail in the Manalapan case was set at $15,000.

He is currently being held at the South Woods State Prison, Cumberland County, on unrelated charges.
