Man Robbed Cashiers In Manalapan, Marlboro, Complaints Say
A 45-year-old Jackson man has been charged with robbing cashiers at a department store in Manalapan and a grocery store in Marlboro.

A 45-year-old Jackson man has been charged with robbing cashiers at a department store in Manalapan and a grocery store in Marlboro.
Gregg A. DeSanto, of South Prospect Road, was arrested by Manalapan Detective Charles Alaimo, according to Manalapan Deputy Chief Michael Fountain.
On Oct. 25, DeSanto went to Target in Manalapan, where he circle the area near the registers for about 10 minutes, then shoved a 17-year-old worker out of the way and snatched $170 from her cash drawer, according to police and the criminal complaint signed against him.

The next day, DeSanto went to ShopRite on Route 9 in Marlboro, told a worker “Don’t make a fuss, the Shakers don’t need their money. They have a lot of money,” according to a complaint. That grocery store is among those owned by Saker ShopRites, Inc.
DeSanto pushed the cashier aside and stole $515 from the register, the complaint said.

DeSanto was sent to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, with bail set at $100,000.
