MANALAPAN, NJ – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in the Manalapan area this Independence Day.
No, Manalapan does not put on its own fireworks show, but here are all the events in nearby towns:
Freehold borough: Wednesday, July 3 at the Freehold Raceway. Freehold Borough Annual Independence Day Concert & Fireworks. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and will feature live music by the Rock N Roll Chorus at 6:30 pm, followed by Daddy Pop from 7:00 – 9:15 pm. Freehold native Kason Jackson will again sing The Star Spangled Banner, immediately followed by the fireworks.

East Brunswick: 4-10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ (rain date July 5) Free Bounce Rides ~ Free Bands and a DJ - Amsterdam and DJ Wacky Wayne Free Parking & Admission ~ Free Face Painting & Balloon Twisting (While supplies last) ~ Free Eating Contests (Limited Number of Entries). Food Trucks and Food Vendors and ....... fireworks when it gets dark!
Colts Neck: The Colts Neck Business Association (CNBA) will once again sponsor the Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks this year. The event would be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Bucks Mill Park from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. There will be no charge to attend the fireworks. No public grilling allowed. No alcohol. No pets.

It is a true small town event right down to the Grandma Charlotte’s Apple Pie Contest sponsored by the Colts Neck Women’s Club for the best-tasting apple pie. In keeping with the spirit of community, the Colts Neck Community Band will perform, the Paul Engle Duo will play and the Girl Scouts sell soda and water. The Colts Neck Fire Department sells hamburgers and hot dogs, Delicious Orchards donates donuts, Weasers sells ice cream and Italian ices, D&D concessions sells popcorn and cotton candy, and the Colts Neck Lions Club will sell glow sticks. The Colts Neck Reformed Church will do face painting for the children. Naval Weapons Station Earle provides a color guard for the ceremony.
Marlboro: Marlboro's celebration will be July 14, 2019, at 7 p.m. A concert of independence featuring New Power soul and fireworks at dusk at the Marlboro Swim & Rec Center.
Hazlet: Hazlet's 2019 fireworks display will be Wednesday, July 3 in Veterans Park, beginning at dusk. The annual fireworks show will go from approximately 9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The rain date is Saturday, July 5.
Atlantic Highlands: The beloved Atlantic Highlands Fireman's Fair will be held July 2 - July 6 from 6 p.m. -11 p.m. every night. Fireworks go off at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, July 5.
Keansburg: Keansburg Amusement Park: Come join us for what is shaping up to be our biggest July 4th fireworks show ever! Held Thursday, July 4 spend the day at Keansburg Amusement Park & Runaway Rapids and then cap it off with one of the largest fireworks displays on the Jersey Shore. You have to pay to enter the parks, but the evening fireworks show is free. The fireworks usually start around dusk. 275 Beachway Avenue in Keansburg.
Matawan: As usual, Matawan will do their fireworks well before July 4: The event will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Lake Lefferts. It is free to attend.
All area residents are welcome at Matawan’s Firework Extravaganza to celebrate Independence Day, at the Lake Lefferts lakefront. The festivities begin at dusk and the fireworks begin when the sun goes down. Enjoy some fabulous live music and a firework show! Lake Lefferts is located at Ravine Drive Matawan, NJ 07747.
Aberdeen: Aberdeen's fireworks 2019 will be Saturday, July 6 from 6:00 - 9:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. All are welcome!
Long Branch: The area's biggest, most crowded July 4 event is the annual OceanFest at Long Branch, held on Thursday, July 4 this year. From 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Food vendors, live musical entertainment, children's entertainment, vendors, arts & crafts and more. Held on the beachfront in Long Branch. Arrive early and find a spot on the beach or on the Great Lawn.
On the Navesink River: Hackensack-Meridian/Riverview Medical Center is holding their seventh annual "Fireworks on the Navesink" again this year. In 2019, it will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the private DiPiero family home on Navesink River Road.
This is a private fundraiser you have to pay to attend, but they lowered prices this year: Tickets are $100 if you just want to watch the fireworks, but $500 if you want entry into the party. There will be great food, fireworks and fun. All the money raised goes to support Riverview Medical Center, the area's beloved community hospital. The celebration goes from 6:30-10 p.m. July 3.
