Manalapan Boil Water Advisory Lifted

It is no longer necessary for residents on Millhurst Road and Station Street to boil their water for cooking and drinking.

MANALAPAN, NJ — SUEZ completed repairs to the water main break at Station Street and Millhurst Road on Tuesday evening in Manalapan, with water pressure returning to normal throughout the area.

It is no longer necessary for the affected residents (noted below) to boil their water for cooking and drinking. The boil water advisory was issued to the following addresses after a 12-inch water main break occurred Monday:

Residents located at 136, 138, 142, 146, 148, 150 Millhurst Road; Wemrock Brook School, 118 Millhurst Road; Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School, 155 Millhurst Road; Rex Lumber, 1 Station Street; Twin Towers Trading, Inc., 10 Station Street/12 Conover Street; Residents located at 14, 16, 18, 22, 25, 28 Station Street.

Following the repair, SUEZ collected water samples. The test results showed that the drinking water quality meets all regulatory requirements, and results were submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for verification.

Upon reviewing the laboratory data, the NJDEP has confirmed that it is no longer necessary for above-mentioned customers to boil their water.

The following measures are recommended at this time:

  • Run water faucets for 3-5 minutes to flush the service connection and interior plumbing.
  • Empty and clean automatic ice makers and water chillers.
  • Drain and refill hot water heaters if the temperature is set below 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Run water softener/cartridge filters through a regeneration cycle or the procedures recommended by the product manufacturer.
