Manalapan To Host First Responder Appreciation 5K Later This Year

The inaugural event will take place Oct. 3 and is open to participants of all ages. Here's how you can participate and show your support:

MANALAPAN, NJ - To raise money for Sept. 11 victims, fallen first responder’s families and other charities supporting active, retired and deceased responders, Manalapan Township will host its first annual 5K event this October.

“September 11th, 2001 is a day we will never forget. As a tribute to those lost on that day and to show appreciation to all First Responders, Active, Retired and those that have passed, the Gordon’s Corner Fire Company and Manalapan Township have partnered to host a First Responder Appreciation 5k Run/Walk event on October 3rd, 2021,” the township wrote in a news release.

Proceeds will benefit the Tunnels to the Towers Foundations, the Fallen First Responder Program, the Gold Star Family Home Program and other first responder charities. Interested parties can register at www.gcfire.org. T-shirts will be given to everyone registered by September 15.
