According to the Asbury Park Press, about five years ago, money was stolen by a PTA member in another school at the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District. A former treasurer at Pine Brook School, Vivian Pudder, pleaded guilty to theft and forgery after $26,727 went missing from the PTA's account there.

She was sentenced to five years of probation and the school district was reimbursed.
