March Madness: Rutgers To Play Top-Seeded UConn Monday Night

The Rutgers women's basketball team has Jersey Shore residents on its roster; UConn associate head coach is a New Jersey native.

The Rutgers women’s basketball team will face off against top-seeded UConn Monday night in round two of the 2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship tournament.

Rutgers moves onto the second round after beating Seton Hall 79-66 on Saturday.

The game begins at 9 p.m. in Storrs, Conn.

It will air on ESPN2.

The Rutgers’ roster includes three Jersey Shore residents: Syessence Davis, a graduate of Neptune High School, Christa Evans, a graduate of Jackson Memorial High School, and sophomore Alex Alfano, an Atlantic Highlands resident and graduate of Red Bank Catholic. Meanwhile, the UConn associate head coach, Chris Dailey, is a Rutgers graduate and New Brunswick native, according to the city’s Facebook page.

The winner of Monday’s game will play Texas on Saturday.
