Michelle’s philosophy of midwifery is providing education, empowerment, and compassionate care throughout a woman’s life cycle, especially during the most transformational experiences, such as childbirth. She establishes a partnership with women and their families to develop a mutually agreed-upon care plan. She uses both holistic and evidenced-based approaches, as dictated by the guidelines of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the organization that sets the standards for maternal fetal medicine and care.
Michelle holds certifications from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) fetal monitoring courses, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and the Resolve Through Sharing (RTS) Perinatal Bereavement Training program. She is also certified in Advanced Life Support for Obstetrical Patients (ALSO) and Centering Pregnancy.
