Monmouth County Residents To Compete In NJ Horse Show

The State 4-H Championship Horse Show will be held from Friday to Sunday at the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown.

Ten area young people will compete in this weekend’s State 4-H Championship Horse Show in Allentown.

The event begins Friday and runs through Sunday at the Horse Park of New Jersey.

“The competing 4-H’ers are the best of the best from each county; they have earned the right to participate through county-level qualifying shows,” Roberta Hunter, Monmouth County’s 4-H Agent said in a prepared statement.

Alicia Chapman of Toms River will join more than 200 4-H members from around the state to compete in the English, Western, Dressage, Driving, Very Small Equine, Challenged Rider and Game divisions, a county news release said.

The 4-H members rode in a series of tri-county qualifying shows earlier this year.

The top two riders from each class are competing in this weekend’s show.

Here’s the full roster for the Monmouth County team:

  • Alicia Chapman, Toms River
  • Arianna Ciccone, Marlboro
  • Natalie Cribbin, Spring Lake Heights
  • Erin Doyle, Howell
  • Katie Kalyfan, of the Morganville section of Marlboro
  • Maya Konefal, of the Lincroft section of Middletown
  • Caitlin Lanigan, Middletown
  • Samantha Puccio, Howell
  • Olive Scaff, Atlantic Highlands
  • Taylor Toris, Hazlet

The county coordinators include Jaime Kelly for Dressage; Linda Cribbin for the English Division; and Kim Toris for the Western and Games Divisions.

The State 4-H Championship Horse Show is sponsored by the New Jersey Equine Advisory Board, along with businesses and individuals from the state.

The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers, New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station - Cooperative Extension.
