Township Committee and Borough Council Meetings this Week

Veteran’s Day 

Monday is Veteran’s Day and government offices and all schools will be closed. There will also be no mail delivery today. Veteran’s Day was established by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day, the day when the fighting in World War I ended. 

Government

The Township Committee is holding a public meeting in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Englishtown Borough Council is meeting in the courtroom of the Englishtown Municipal Building at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. 

The Planning Board is meeting in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 8 p.m. on Thursday. 

Other government meetings:

• The Shade Tree Commission is meeting in room 213 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. 
• The Economic Development is meeting in room 216 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. 
• The Municipal Agricultural Advisory Commission is meeting in room 213 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 7 p.m. on Thursday. 

Schools 

The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education is meeting at their administration building at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The school district administration building is located at 54 Main Street in Englishtown. 

The Freehold Regional High School District is holding a Financial Aid Night at Manalapan High School at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This seminar, taking place within the auditorium of the high school, is being conducted by Jamillah Barker, a representative of Higher Education Student Authority. 

Drum and Percussion Workshop 

The Monmouth County Library is holding “Bonk! Expressive Drum and Percussion Workshop for Kids” on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m, a workshop open to children who are 4-years-old and and up. Registration is required, please call 732-431-7220 ext. 7226. 

Couture and Cocktails Shopping Event for Women

All About Women events is holding a “Couture and Cocktails” shopping event and cocktail party for women with a portion of the proceeds going to the Ovarian Cancer Research Event. The event will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. at iPlay America, located at 110 Schanck Road in Freehold. Vendors from all over New Jersey will be selling clothing, accessories, purses, shoes, jewelry, hair extensions, skin care products and more. Tickets available at the door for $55.
