MANALAPAN, NJ - Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from June 2 to 8:

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at approximately 8:57 a.m., a 44-year-old resident of South Plainfield reported that a subject has been harassing the victim via cell phone calls and text messages for over a year. The reporting party also reported that the suspect entered his vehicle while it was parked at a Poe Place residence and removed property with an unknown value amount. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report.

On Monday, June 7, 2021, at approximately 3:24 p.m., an 83-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported an unknown actor(s) opened a TD bank account using the victim’s personal information. The report was handled by Patrolman Sean McCarthy.

On Monday, June 7, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., David Seara, a 35-year-old married male resident of Jackson, NJ, who is employed as a painter, responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and turned himself in regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court (no bail amount set). Mr. Seara was processed and subsequently turned over to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. Patrolman Kyle Early was the arresting officer.

On Monday, June 7, 2021, at approximately 2:53 p.m., a 48-year-old Manalapan Township resident and a 49-year-old Old Bridge resident were involved in a physical altercation at the Target Department Store, located at 55 Route 9 south in Manalapan. No injuries were reported and no complaints were signed as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report.

On Monday, June 7, 2021, at approximately 9:59 a.m., a 29-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a vehicle was stolen by an unknown actor while parked in the parking lot of a Route 9 business over night, between 3:00 a.m. and 4 a.m. on June 6, 2021. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report, which is pending further investigation.


On Sunday, June 6, 2021 at approximately 8:14 p.m., a 59-year-old Manalapan resident and a 55-year-old Manalapan resident reported an unknown actor(s) used their pedigree information to open fraudulent unemployment benefits. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report.

On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., a Manalapan Township business owner reported that unknown actor(s) removed an unknown amount of aluminum fencing from a Monmouth Road business property during the morning hours of June 6, 2021. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 8:53 a.m., a 69-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported receiving a notice via the mail regarding unclaimed property. The victim contacted a fraudulent number and provided personal information to an unknown actor in order to claim the money. There was no monetary loss as a result of this incident. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report.

On Friday, June 4, 2021, at approximately 8:39 p.m., a 61-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported an unknown actor(s) used their pedigree information to obtain fraudulent unemployment benefits. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the report.

On Friday, June 4, 2021, at approximately 8:58 a.m., a 61-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported an unknown actor(s) used their pedigree information to open fraudulent unemployment benefits. Patrolman Ryan Brady handled the report.

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 5:46 p.m., a 71-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown subject claiming to represent an online retail store advised the victim that there was a debt on their account. The victim was advised to purchase gift cards in the amount of $1,500.00 and provided the numbers on the back of the cards to the suspect in order to settle the debt. The victim provided the card information to the suspect and suffered a monetary loss of $1,500.00. Patrolman Matthew Porricelli handled the report.

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 1:36 p.m., a 62-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported being the victim of a phone scam claiming to be a representative of a company. The victim then purchased three gift cards and provided the gift card numbers to the suspect. The gift cards were valued at $300.00. Patrolman Jean Letts handled the report.

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 12:24 p.m., a 69-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) in Arizona fraudulently used the victim’s credit card from a hardware retail store, charging a total of $927.53. The victim reported that this incident was being handled by the fraud department of the retail store. The reporting party suffered no monetary loss as a result of this incident. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report.

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 11:15 a.m., a 59-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) fraudulently attempted to acquire unemployment benefits in the victim’s name. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., an anonymous party reported that their unsecured bicycle, which was left unsecured on Symmes Drive, was stolen by an unknown actor. The bicycle was described as a black Huffy with a light and no handgrips. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 12:14 p.m., a 68-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor whom they met on an online dating site had fraudulently obtained a total of $112,632.94 from their banking account, which was transferred to the suspect through a Bitcoin ATM/Wallet. Patrolman Kyle Williams handled the report.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:58 a.m., a 48-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported paying $24,800.00 for a driveway paving service, however, the work was never completed. This incident is pending the signing of complaints. Patrolmen Hayden Hrymack handled the report.
