Virginia Mayhew Quartet to Perform Jazz at Library

Come bop along with the Virginia Mayhew Quintet at the Monmouth County Library this weekend. This group is led by Virginia Mayhew, a jazz saxophonist who has been on the New York jazz circuit since 1987. 

Mayhew has her own quintet and quartet and she also leads the Duke Elllington Legacy Band, an 8-piece band founded by two of Duke Ellington's grandchildren. She is also a jazz educator, freelancer, and a creator of a multi-disciplinary group that uses tap dancing instead of a drum set. 

The Virginia Mayhew Quintet is performing on Sunday at the Monmouth County Library at 2 p.m. The show is free. For more information, call the Library at 732-431-7220 x7222.
