BBP Brings Festive Flair to the Belmar Central Business District

The Belmar Business Partnership (BBP) is spreading holiday cheer with new holiday light displays and seasonal planters in the downtown business district, along with a one-day event featuring photos and face painting with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The street lamps covered in white LED holiday lights along Main Street, the blue snowflake flag banners, and the and the oversized planters filled with greenery, birch twigs and red berries were designed by the BBP’s Visual Improvements committee. The committee is chaired by BBP President Sal Marchese, who owns Salon Marsal on 10th Avenue in the borough.

“In preparation for Small Business Saturday on November 30 and all through the holiday shopping season, we wanted Belmar to really shine during this festive time of year,” Marchese says. “Downtown Belmar is a great place to find gifts for everyone on your list, and we hope everyone will support the local business community by shopping in our stores, utilizing our service businesses, and dining in our restaurants.”

In addition to sponsoring new holiday decorations, the BBP has teamed up with Creativity Lab to present Photos and Face Painting with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday, November 23, from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Bring a new unwrapped toy, book, or game for children between the ages of 2 months and 19 years for the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Toy Drive and be entered to win a free birthday party at Creativity Lab for 2020. Face painting is provided by Dot Your Face Entertainment, a local children’s party entertainment company. Creativity Lab is located at 809 Main Street in Belmar.
