Belmar Business Partnership Welcomes Creativity Lab to Main St.

Summer camp sessions at Creativity Lab begin July 9. Engaging young minds though technology, robotics, 3D printing, and crafts.

Creativity Lab NJ recently opened for business at 809 Main Street in downtown Belmar, New Jersey. Lauren Stout, founder and owner of Creativity Lab (pictured below), describes her business as “a space for empowering learners to create with, not consume, technology.”

“Creativity Lab has a wide range of innovative and engaging hands-on projects using robotics, crafting, 3D printing, and coding to build authentic skills in science, technology, arts, math, and engineering,” she explains. “As a mother and a teacher, I recognize the need to provide opportunities for learning by doing. I’m excited to offer these experiences to learners of all ages from all backgrounds.”

Among the educational offerings at Creativity Lab are enrichment classes and summer camps for students in elementary through high school, as well as weekend family programs and Late Night at the Lab activities for adults.

I grew up and spent my childhood in Belmar and am now a homeowner in town with my husband and 6-year-old twins,” Stout says. “Belmar offers incredibly diverse opportunities to both its residents and out-of-town visitors, and Creativity Lab will serve as a further addition to what our great town has to offer."

Stout adds that Main Street "is a great spot for Creativity Lab, as we are in walking distance from both Belmar Elementary and St. Rose Grammar School, in addition to St. Rose High School. Students can easily come join our enrichment classes that run throughout the school year."

True to her educator's roots, Stout finds it "incredibly inspirational" to see the deep engagement that occurs when students gain self-confidence as they learn new skills at Creativity Lab.

"We’re surrounded by so much technology, but too often we are just consuming it. Creativity Lab is all about DIT; Do It Together. We believe making is more fun and meaningful when grounded in community.”

Summer Camp sessions at Creativity Lab begin July 9. Stout also offers an after-care program, Parent’s Night Out, and Late Night at the Lab activities so adults can get all creative too. For more information, visit www.creativitylabnj.com.
