Gather the family and head to Belmar beach at 3rd Avenue on Sunday, September 29, for the seventh annual Belmar Kite Festival presented by the Belmar Business Partnership (BBP). Bring your own kites to fly or come and enjoy the spectacular show put on by members of the South Jersey Kite Fliers and the Passing Wind Kite Club.

The BBP started the Belmar Kite Festival six autumns ago to help showcase the business community along Ocean Avenue. At the northern end of Ocean Avenue, near the kite festival beach, local businesses include La Dolce Vita and La Terrazza Italian Restaurants, Playa Bowls, Coney Waffle, Beachnut boutique, and Jimmy's Place. Further south along Ocean Avenue, you'll find the legendary Jersey Shore nightclub D'Jais, along with a mix of specialty retailers and casual eateries, including Eastern Lines Surf Shop, Beckman's On the Beach, a second Playa Bowls location (Lil Belmar), and Bubbakoo's Burritos.

"The kite festival such a great event. Everyone loves it — adults and children alike. It's a great way to showcase Belmar as a year-round destination for family fun, dining and shopping," says BBP President Sal Marchese. "We were disappointed that our spring date was rained out, so we are hoping for great weather this time."
