Lofidelic Records celebrates grand opening on Main Street Belmar
Shop Lofidelic Records for vintage vinyl, from classic rock and dance music, to hip-hop, jazz, and more

The Belmar Business Partnership (BBP) celebrated the grand opening of Lofidelic Records on Saturday, August 18, 2018, with a ribbon-cutting event at the vintage record shop. Attending the event from the BBP Board of Trustees were Tom Burke, Christine Cardellino, and Pat Tecza. Belmar Mayor Brian Magovern cut the ribbon at the new business, which is located at 904 Main Street. Also participating in the ribbon cutting were Belmar Councilman Mark Walsifer and Belmar Councilwoman Jennifer Nicolay.

"The most exciting part of opening my business in Belmar is having the support of the community and the locals," says owner David Hernandez (pictured below with his son). "There is nothing more touching than when someone comes into the shop and says, 'Thank you for opening a record shop in our town!' That’s one of the biggest reasons we love what we do. When people come in and smile and remember their childhood because of records, it means the world to us. We want to bring happiness to people through records--and that’s something you wont get from a big box store or a chain corporation."

Lofidelic Records carries a vast selection of all genres of music, from jazz and dance hits, to hip-hop and classic rock.

"We have thousands of used records, as well as a bunch of new repressed classics and new releases. We try to have something for everyone," says Hernandez.
In addition to an extensive record inventory, Lofidelic is equipped with a full turntable set up for local DJs to perform live vinyl sets in the store.

"We also carved out some space in the shop for local bands and artists to come in and play during our open-mic events. We always welcome artists to come in and showcase their talents," says Hernandez. "We would like to thank all the Belmar businesses and the Belmar locals who have welcomed us with open arms. We look forward to having great success in this amazing beach town."
