1 Dead In Fiery Car Crash On Route 18 In Colts Neck: MCPO
A female driver was pronounced dead after her vehicle traveled off the main road and ejected her as it caught fire, authorities said.
COLTS NECK, NJ - A female driver was pronounced dead over the weekend following a single-vehicle collision on Route 18 in Colts Neck, authorities said.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:51 a.m. on July 4 in the area of Milepost 17.6. The driver - who remains to be identified - traveled off the roadway in a 2015 Lexus IS and was ejected out of her vehicle as it set on fire, according to a spokesman from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
The female driver was the sole occupant of the car as she was traveling northbound when the vehicle traveled off the road to the right, went behind a guardrail and down an embankment where it collided with multiple trees.

The victim was pronounced dead at 5:26 a.m., the spokesman said. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
