580+ Households Without Power In Marlboro Amid Tropical Storm
Tropical Storm Elsa brought flooding and heavy winds to Monmouth County, knocking out power for thousands of residents into Friday morning.
MARLBORO, NJ - Amid heavy rain, 60 mph wind gusts and a statewide flash flood warning, thousands of residents across New Jersey reported power outages Thursday afternoon into Friday morning during Tropical Storm Elsa - with hundreds still awaiting power restoration.
As of 10:30 a.m. on Friday, 1,401 households were left without power in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L. Of those, 585 were located in Marlboro Township.
A hazardous weather outlook in effect for the county, which saw roughly 1.44 inches of rainfall between Thursday afternoon and Friday.

“Several instances of flooding are possible, especially in urban and poor-drainage areas and near vulnerable small creeks and streams. There is a moderate risk of rip currents,” the National Weather Service said Friday morning.
As of 11:38 a.m. on Friday, all outages were restored in Marlboro, according to JCP&L. 734 outages were still reported in Monmouth County.
