Accident Closes Rt. 520 In Colts Neck Sunday

There was a motor vehicle accident that closed heavily-traveled Rt. 520 through Colts Neck for much of the day Sunday.

COLTS NECK, NJ — There was a motor vehicle accident that closed heavily-traveled Rt. 520 through Colts Neck for much of the day Sunday.

The crash happened at 8:49 a.m. on Rt. 520 in the area of Ginesi Drive. Upon police arrival it was discovered that a 2011 Honda Pilot had left the roadway and impacted a utility pole, causing the pole to come down across the highway and vehicle.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported by Morganville First Aid Squad to Robert Wood Johnson University located in New Brunswick for medical evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the crash, Rt. 520 was closed between Tennent Road and Rt. 9 while utility repairs were made.
