Colts Neck Native, CBA Grad to Play for the Red Sox
Pat Light, 25, of Colts Neck was called up by the Red Sox Sunday and may take the mound Monday night against Houston.

Colts Neck, NJ - Pat Light has made the majors.
Light, a Colts Neck native, 25, and graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, was called up by the Boston Red Sox Sunday, April 24 and put on the active roster for the MLB team, the school confirmed to Patch Monday.
Light, a relief pitcher, is eligible to pitch in Monday night's game against the Houston Astros. He's been training in the Red Sox bullpen.

Light was a star pitcher at Christian Brothers Academy (CBA). While in high school, he was a perfect 20-0 as a pitcher and helped lead the Colts to the 2009 Non-Public State Championship. Light went on to pitch for Monmouth University before being drafted as the 37th pick of the 2012 MLB Draft.
Light has been in the minor leagues for the past two seasons, pitching for AAA Pawtucket, after playing for AA Portland, Maine for a season. He appeared in five games for AAA Pawtucket and had 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings. He did spring training with the Red Sox, and can be seen here wearing their uniform.

The whole school and Colts Neck community is "really excited" for Light, said Vincent Ferrer, an associate director of marketing for the private boy's Catholic school.
