CNBA Donates Ornaments to Operation Provide Comfort

The holidays, while a time of joy for many, can also be a reminder of those who are struggling.

As part of its continued partnership with Operation Provide Comfort Union Beach the Colts Neck Business Association reached out to their membership with a call to action.  At its December general meeting members were asked to bring Christmas ornaments to compliment the efforts to donate Christmas trees and stands to our neighbors still displaced form the storms.

“Our business community responded well once again as hundreds of ornaments were brought to the meeting and then even more continued to flow in for days after,” said Glen J. Dalakian, 2013 CNBA President.

Christmas trees, stands, ornaments and even toys were distributed to those in need in Union Beach.

Other CNBA members also have been busy. Monica Vermeulen organized the group’s annual Window Painting event with the students of Colts Neck High School. The following Colts Neck locations showcase the artistic talents of our students: Subway, Perkins, United Insurance, Becker’s Hardware, Defalco Realty, and Capital Paint Centers. The students were also very appreciative of the lunch graciously donated by the Colts Neck Subway shop. Winners of the contest will be announced in January.

At its December meeting, Freeholder Tom Arnone presented the Grow Monmouth campaign to CNBA members.

“It is important to realize that 90 percent of Monmouth County businesses are small businesses,” he said.

The program focuses on the needs and obstacles of doing business in our county.  The phases of the program include: Development, Awareness, and a Toolkit.
