Colts Neck Brewery Awarded Historical Preservation Grant

Monmouth County recently recognized The Source Farmhouse Brewery as an "excellent example of historic adaptive reuse."

COLTS NECK, NJ - The Monmouth County Historical Commission has announced the recipients of the 2021 Historic Preservation Awards, and one renovated farmhouse in Colts Neck tops the list.

The Source Farmhouse Brewery in Colts Neck on Route 34 was honored for owner Philip Petracca’s restoration of the historic Schanck barn. In a news release, the county called it “an excellent example of historic adaptive re-use.”

The original structure was built by Lafeyette Schank in 1800. The property passed down from generation to generation before being purchased by Petracca and converted into a brewery in 2017. The Source Farmhouse Brewery is known for its signature and unique craft beers, including a stout coconut mocha brew, “ambrosia milkshakes” and original hard seltzers.
