Colts Neck Graduate Joe Nero Dies at Age 23

Joseph William “Joe” Nero, 23, of Brick passed away on June 23, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Joe was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township, just recently having moved to Brick.  

He was a 2008 graduate of Colts Neck High School and attended Centenary College, Hackettstown. Joe was currently employed by Quality First Companies, Perth Amboy heading up the Concrete Lifting Division as a PolyLEVEL Specialist and had previously worked for Freehold Township Recreation Department. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and a former member of Freehold Township Independent Fire Company #1.

Joe is survived by his mother, Patricia Nero of Brick; his father, William F. Nero of Asbury Park; two brothers, Jeff Nero of Freehold Township and Jonathan Nero of Brick; his uncles, Thomas Roman and his wife, Deborah of Pt. Pleasant and Larry Roman of Union Beach;  his aunt, Marie Roman of Montville; and many cousins  and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 9:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.   For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
