Colts Neck High School Freshman Honored As Volunteer

Colts Neck Freshman Srinath Dantu has been honored for volunteering at a local Hindu temple for last four years.

COLTS NECK, NJ - Srinath Dantu, a Colts Neck freshman, has been volunteering at a local Hindu temple for the last four years. Dantu has participated in activities including gardening and cleaning the space, as well as knitting blankets for children who have terminal illnesses.

All his hard work did not go unnoticed: Dantu recently received a President’s Volunteer Service Award.

According to its website, the President’s Volunteer Service Award encourages citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. The award recognizes individuals who have reached a certain number of hours of volunteer service over a 12-month time period or cumulative hours over the course of a lifetime.

Dantu received a silver medal, which required between 75 and 99 hours of service.
