Weekend Fire Causes ‘Significant Damage’ To Colts Neck House
A Cedar Drive home in Colts Neck sustained damage during a Saturday morning fire, authorities said.

COLTS NECK, NJ - A Colts Neck residence sustained “significant” damage during a Saturday morning fire, authorities said.
On May 22 at around 11:30 a.m., the Colts Neck Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on Cedar Drive. Units from District 36 RIT - a Rapid Intervention Team with members from Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1, East Freehold Fire Department and Wayside Fire Company - teamed up to extinguish the blaze.
“Today we responded to assist the Colts Neck Fire Department with this incident,” Freehold Fire Department wrote in a statement. “The house sustained significant damage. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the homeowners of this home and pray for a quick recovery. We don’t wish these type of days on anyone.”

Responders also observed the surrounding wooded areas, soaking the surrounding forest to keep brush from igniting, according to a report from The Journal NJ.
Units from Manalapan Township Fire Company No. 1, Marlboro Fire Department No. 1, NWS Earle Fire and Emergency Services and Wanamassa Fire Company also aided in the effort, according to a social media post from the Wayside Fire Company.

It was not immediately clear whether any injuries were sustained. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office.
