Township police received a 911 call on July 7, 2013 from a Colts Neck woman indicating she was stabbed by an unknown assailant at her home on Bray Street, between Route 34 and Holmdel Road. The Colts Neck Police Department and emergency medical services responded to her residence where they discovered she had been stabbed several times. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. She remained in the hospital for several days where she was treated for her injuries and eventually discharged.

A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Colts Neck Police Department revealed that the victim heard some noise coming from the outside of her house and when she went to open her door to investigate, Doyle allegedly pushed his way into her house and stabbed her several times. Police say Doyle then took the keys to her car and fled the scene in her vehicle parked in her driveway. The vehicle was recovered in Aberdeen later that same morning.
