JCP&L To Inspect Marlboro Power Lines This Month

Helicopters in the area may be circling the township and flying closely for transmission line inspections throughout July, officials said.

MARLBORO, NJ - Don’t be alarmed if you witness helicopters circling Marlboro throughout the duration of July, officials say: JCP&L will be conducting transmission line inspections in the township starting next week.

From July 6 until around July 16, Helo Air - contracted by JCP&L’s parent company FirstEnergy - will be conducting helicopter inspections on all JCP&L transmission lines.

Helicopters will be flying at a speed of about 35 to 40 mph above or alongside the lines and may circle around for a closer inspection, the township noted in an alert to residents.
