Legal Bills for Marlboro Schools Superintendent Skyrocketing
Ethics matter scheduled for January 2021 hearing with Office of Administrative Law

When last reported on December 30, 2019, the legal bills defending Marlboro Schools Superintendent, Mr. Eric Hibbs, from an ethics complaint signed by former school board member, Mr. Craig Marshall, amounted to $13, 312.11. Nearly a year later, the amount to defend Mr. Hibbs has climbed over 200%.
An OPRA request submitted to Mr. Vincent Caravello, the newly appointed school business administrator, assuming the duties and responsibilities from long-time and retired business administrator, Ms. Cynthia Barre-Rague, indicate those bills have climbed to $40,557.00 dollars.
According to Ms. Candice Hendricks, assistant director of judicial standards of the Office of Administrative Law, the hearing for Mr. Hibbs is scheduled for an unknown date sometime in January of 2021.
Last month, the Marlboro Board of Education approved a $5408 merit raise for Mr. Hibbs satisfying a requirement in his employment contract for the 2020-2021 school year.
