Manalapan's Chris Thorsheim Signed to New York Red Bulls

Chris is the son of Chris and Lori Thorsheim and was a 2012 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy.

Manalapan, NJ - From the leafy green soccer fields of central Jersey to the turf of the Red Bulls stadium in Harrison.

Manalapan’s own Chris Thorsheim has been signed to play for the New York Red Bulls, the professional soccer team announced Wednesday.

Thorsheim, 21, is currently in his senior year at Bucknell. He totaled 80 career games for Bucknell with 20 goals and 18 assists. He is the son of Chris and Lori Thorsheim and was a 2012 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, where he was named the 2012 Shore Conference player of the year.

He got his start playing soccer with the Manalapan rec program and then his first travel team, the Manalapan Red Tribe.

Thorsheim was a member of the unbeaten 2014 New York Red Bulls U-23 team that won the NPSL National Championship. Prior to Bucknell, he played for the Red Bulls U-18s.
