Marlboro Accepts Prepayment of 2018 Taxes because of new tax law
Marlboro officials say the new tax law is inspiring some people to prepay their 2018 taxes, which limits deductions.

MARLBORO, NJ - In a Dec. 21 letter to residents, Marlboro officials are giving people until Dec. 28 to prepay their 2018 taxes.
They note because of the recently passed tax bill pushed through by Republicans in the House and the Senate and signed by President Donald J. Trump, some property owners in town are considering whether to prepay their 2018 property taxes before the end of the year because the new law will cap property tax deductions at $10,000.
Marlboro Township will accept prepayment for any portion of a property owners' 2018 property taxes but the clock is ticking. Payments must be received in the tax office by Dec. 28 to be posted to their 2017 tax bill.
.
Marlboro homeowners received their property tax statement for fiscal year 2017/2018 in July 2017 which included the first two quarter payment amounts for 2018, according to the letter posted on the Marlboro Township website.
The second half of 2018 property taxes - the third and fourth quarter payments - have not yet been determined in part because the 2018 municipal budget has been been finalized nor has the state or federal spending plans.
Marlboro property taxes can be viewed or paid on line at http://www.marlboro-nj.gov/tax_collector_division_main.html. You may use the 24-hour drop box located in the Town Hall lobby or you may bring it to the Tax Office during normal business hours.
