Journey to a magical underwater kingdom, where the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, (Alyssa Kiselev), longs to leave her ocean home and rise to the surface to explore life above the sea. King Triton, (Alex Postovskiy), rules the underwater kingdom and is the controlling father of seven mermaids. Ariel, his youngest daughter wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric, (Josh Holtzberg), and bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, (Sierra Bonilla), to trade her tail for legs. She is joined by Sebastian, (Danielle Lirov), an adorably anxious crab and sidekick to our protagonist, Ariel, who calls upon her friends Flounder the fish, (Julia Munk) and Scuttle the seagull, (Sydney Katz) to restore order under the sea. An enchanting tale with lively musical numbers, “The Little Mermaid, JR.” explores the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.
Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, JR.” is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and book by Doug Wright.
